"We're going Places"
I am finally back !!!

The L&A is a freelanced model railroad set in the Southern Appalachians in 1934.  It is purely the result of my imagination and actually resides in a 16x26 foot room over my garage.  To read more about the L&A go to the following links:
The link to track plan will get you further information about the layout including the track plan in the room as well as a profile drawing.
There is a link to review some of the tips and techniques I am using for the actual building of the layout.
Part of what makes a freelance railroad come to life for me is the development of plausible explanations for the various quirks and turns of the line.  The link to history provides the background and the fictional history of the Black Hills Area.
While the map link displays a stylized map of the Black Hills.
I am attempting to write a rule book for the layout and this link points to my effort to date.  By the way, I would be interested in any electronic version of a rule book which might be available as a starting point.
I have included some pictures of scenes on the layout.
I have developed some software for running my layout and for doing some of the paperwork in support of operation.
I have been collecting and trading Electronic Rail  Passes.
Finally I have included the obligatory reference to other MRR sources which I have found both interesting and useful.
